Barceló Hotels & Resorts introduced a whole
new
“Beach Resort” concept in Bávaro, and it has been
a huge success since its opening in 1985. This concept was later adopted
by other hotel complexes in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and the Mayan Riveria
(Mexican Caribbean).
The Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort, is the only hotel complex situated on Playa Bávaro, an amazing 3 kilometer-long stretch of natural beach, with calm aquamarine blue waters enclosed by a coral reef about 800m from the shore. It is considered to be one of the ten finest beaches in the world.
