Civil Weddings
- The groom, bride and Witnesses have to be in México, at least 2-4 business days before the wedding. Everything to be able to complete the Marriage application form.
- Groom & Bride: valid passports and birth certificates (ESSENTIAL).
- Groom, Bride and Witnesses: Tourist Visa Cards, given at the airport in Los Cabos
- Groom & Bride: Blood Test (Name, Blood Type, Syphilis and HIV). The blood test must be done in Mexico from a specific government laboratory. An appointment will be booked at the Resort´s clinic. The payment is in cash direct in the hotel. Must be taken in Los Cabos 2-3 business days prior to the wedding.
- Blood Test (Name, Blood Type, Syphilis and HIV). The Blood Test must be done in Mexico from a specific Governmental Laboratory. An appointment will be set with them to come to the Resort and take the blood sample. The payment is directly and in Cash.
Notes:
- Passports and birth certificate must have the same information (for the bride, has to be with her maiden name).
- Tourist visa must be filled out as the same on your passport.
- Blood test with HIV positive will be an impediment to get married in Mexico.
- If the bride is divorced, a copy of the final divorce decree must be presented. At least one year must have elapsed from the date on the divorce decree.
- If the bride is divorced and her passport has her ex husband last name and she wants to get married with her maiden name, it´s necessary to bring the following documentation:
- Copy of the Birth certificate.
- Apostille seal document that states that the bride has her maiden last name certified by the Secretary of State.
- Apostille seal and tourist visa card must be filled out according to the birth certificate.
- The city hall will keep the copies of the birth certificate and divorce certificates, they will not be returned.
- The marriage will be legal in Mexico.
- Laws and requirements may change according to Mexican Laws.
- The wedding department will keep a copy of the marriage certificate.

Catholic Wedding
Documentation required prior to your trip to Mexico:
- Visit your Pastor, your Parish Priest and do all the paperwork required there.
- The couple must do the pre-marriage courses in their country.
- Finally, ask the local priest Padre (Father) Juvencio Gonzalez for available dates, times and arrangement needed for the wedding.
